Video: How To Make Toffee

I teach you all how to make the toffee that’s been made in my family for years.

REALLY EASY! You can add nuts, candies, sprinkles, etc. into the chocolate if you wish. Smarties especially make them look gorgeous and kid friendly! Break and wrap into cellophane bags to use as gifts!

    @devil45110 she starts with a cold pan and heats it. Helps to melt rather than fry and burn the butter while it’s still a brick

  2. williamilliaw5000 says:

    1/2 a cup of water
    2 cups of sugar (white or brown)
    1/2 a cup of milk
    4 tsp (tablespoon) butter
    2 tsp (teaspoon) vanilla extract/essence

    for me the best brand of butter is Lurpak. google it if you’re not British (like me) or Danish.

  6. wataki2 says:

    Nice receipe but this isnt true English Toffee, this receipe is classified as Brittle in England. Toffee contains cream so its super chewy!

    @zazaalobffs4ever Hehe umm maybe ten minutes?

  19. zazaalobffs4ever says:

    must have been really hard to stir it for that long! looks like u stirred it reely long when u sped the video up lol how long was it? :) ty

  20. TheBunkitty says:

    The toffee looks really white you have to cook it for longer until it has a dark golden colour.

  21. Haileyrocks360 says:

    @Pudalougie Why wouldn’t I edit it…? :P

  22. Pudalougie says:

    Everyone does this the hard way, you are supposed to melt the butter first then add the sugar. Also why does everyone use the thermometer? What happened when people way back didn’t invent the thermometer? They looked at how brown the toffee got. P.S. Why did you edit the video

  23. Haileyrocks360 says:

    @crushed51 Thanks bro…

  24. crushed51 says:

    OK, it said you can use nuts in this recipe. NOT if you want to make TRADITIONAL English toffee you don’t. TRADITIONAL English toffee does NOT, repeat does NOT, have nuts in it. Putting nuts in it is making AMERICAN toffee, NOT ENGLISH TOFFEE.

  25. prettynoose8497 says:

    @Haileyrocks360 You said it was butter that you used for the toffee, but it looks like you got it from a margerine tub. Are you using butter or margerine for this toffee?

  26. xxxbloomiexxx says:

    lol im definately trying it and im english

  27. Haileyrocks360 says:

    @TheBunkitty You can use a saucepan, but it might bubble over so be careful! And if you constantly stir it, it won’t burn.

  28. TheBunkitty says:

    Do we have to use a stock pot can we use a sauce pan my parents won’t let me because they think i might burn it. :(

  29. eagleturtlestar says:

    Good job hailey..the music added flavor also!

  30. LalaChick30 says:

    why would you use a reasealable bag? its called a spoon!
